We're bringing you an exciting FREE project – say hello to Maddie the Rag Doll and make her collectable outfits too!
Maddie is a happy rag doll toy who just loves to put a smile on your face! She loves new clothes and is always busy building her wardrobe. She likes to play and is happiest when being cuddled!
As Maddie's face is made with hand stitching, you may wish to remind yourself of a few key hand stitches – take a look at my key embroidery stitches.
Finished size: 26in (66cm) tall
Note: Use a ¼in (5mm) seam allowance throughout.

You will need:
Equipment
- Sewing machine
- Fabric shears
- Embroidery/crewel needle
- Chenille needle
- Brown alcohol ink pen, for the freckles
- Pink blusher
- Erasable fabric marker pen
- Strong wet fabric glue, such as Gütermann’s
- HT2
Materials
- 42 x 17 (106.75 x 43.25cm) piece of flesh-coloured fabric
- Pink, black, white and green embroidery thread/floss – I have used green for the irises of the eye and pink for the mouth, but feel free to change these to other colours for your own unique doll!
- Ball of yarn for the hair – I’ve used an alpaca bouclé
- Piece of card measuring 12 x 8in (30.5 x 20.5cm)
- 12in (30.5cm) length of ribbon
- Approx. 500g (18oz) of toy filling/polyester fiberfill
