About the project
This stunning coin purse is so versatile – not only does it make a handbag essential, but we use one to store our sewing knick-knacks too! It's a great way to keep your sewing room organized and it also makes for a thoughtful gift too.
I've included the measurements of my cut fabric below, but you can adapt the pattern to suit you! (see video).
Note: use a ¼in (5mm) seam allowance throughout, unless otherwise stated in the video.

This is a beginner-friendly “quick make,” and shouldn't take you more than 20 minutes to stitch!
Debbie's Top Tips
- Add a D-ring to attach the purse to your keys or a clip – or swap the D ring for a loop of ribbon
- If you use a 1in (2.5cm) D ring then use a 4in piece of fabric and increase in that way depending on your D ring size
- Sewing machine
- Scissors
- 5 x 10in (12.75 x 25.5cm) non-directional fabric
- 5 x 10in (12.75 x 25.5cm) lining fabric
- 5 x 10in (12.75 x 25.5cm) fusible fleece (H630)
- 2 x 2in (5 x 5cm) outer fabric for the tab
- 7in (17.75cm) zip
- 1/2in (1.25cm) D ring
