Flat felled seams

A flat felled seam is used to strengthen the seams on garments that tend to take a bit of stress, like the inside leg seam of jeans, or children's wear.

This technique makes a neat seam, with no raw edges showing on either side of the garment. This seam can be sewn from either side of the fabric, but the most common way is to sew the fabric from the right side.
