Has anyone made a dress for a female elf, not very good at clothes sewing, having real problems. Have the male version but thought he might like a partner.
Carol replied: 29 Mar 25 at 11:47
Hi, just a thought but could you perhaps try Maddies clothes. I used one of Maddies and copied slightly smaller for one of my granddaughters dolls and the pattern is quite easy to follow Carol

hi do we get discount when shopping online by being a member please
Mel replied: 28 Mar 25 at 17:22
hYSC members get 10% off Debbie Shore’s own website - the code is available on this site but is useable in Debbie’s personal website - there are some exclusions from the discount eg sewing machines but fabric and notions etc are discountable

Hi. I'm new to this site, I've put a few books in my basket but.. I can't find my basket to buy the items. Can someone help please. TIA.
barb replied: 28 Mar 25 at 06:07
Welcome. There is nothing for sale on this site so it’s probably ‘debbieshoresewing.com’ where you were buying. Or it could have been ‘searchpress.com’. Don’t forget the discount code which is under blog on this site.

I was bought the ‘Year of Quilting’ book an enjoying working through it. However, having a real problem with week 26. Flying geese pieces are not long enough to attach (or central heart is too big?) All pieces cut and sewn to measurements given. Has anyone else had problems?

Hi all read this if you want a good laugh 😃. We received a purple/pink parcel this morning, & I thought my husband had spoiled me by buying things off Debbie's website for my birthday, I got sooo excited, but little did I know , he brought new break pads and cable for his trailer 😊 😄 ☺️. Oh well here's looking forward to my birthday on the 1st

Hi, could you tell me if you wash your completed quilts before giving to recipients. Thanks Kate x
Mel replied: 24 Mar 25 at 12:09
I’ve gifted a few and haven’t washed them beforehand. Backing fabric was washed prior to using as too large to Best Press unlike fabric for the front which was best pressed They didn’t get dirty in the making process and the best pressed allowed any shrinkage to take place.

I have a question for anyone who has made the fluted hem skirt. I made one in a size 14 over the weekend. At the cutting out stage it was a struggle getting all of the pieces cut from 1.5 mtr of fabric. My question is - when placing the fluted section of the pattern onto the fabric, if you have the 'place on fold' section on the fold of the fabric, the grain line is not in line with the arrows as marked on the pattern. Am I missing something obvious here?

a pattern layout would be really useful
