Hi Im certain I watched a Debbie Shore tutorial about putting a zip in the back of a cushion and folding the fabric to conceal the zip. However Ive now spent over 2 hours looking for it !! Can anyone jog my memory please ?

I just used a universal one.. perhaps try adjusting the tension and also cleaning the sewing machine.

Hi all, help! I am zigzagging round some letters and the stitch isn't catching some of the time so get straight stitches mixed with zigzag. I have rethreaded machine , changed needle. It was working fine yesterday. Any suggestions?

Check your bobbin area for a bit of fluff or loose thread.

I am considering buying a magnetic seam guide for my janome dc3050 but have read so many different things about these I am now not sure if it is safe to use. Has anyone got one of these that they use on the computerised machine or can suggest an alternative.

Thanks I have read so many different articles about them affecting machines electronics because of the magnet but need a way of getting a good straight seam. I don't know if there are any other methods people use to do this so I can explore all options.

Good Morning Debbie & The Team, I have a question regarding sewing metal zips into make-up bags. I know that Debbie only uses plastic ones but could you show me how I can use them please? Would you need to use a special needle on your sewing machine? I wanted to make a make-up bag using crushed velvet fabric with the metal zip which would look so much more professionally finished rather than a plastic one. I look forward to hearing from you. I agree with Julie, I use nylon zips generally as I can cut them to the exact length I need, that's a bit more difficult with metal zips...

I have a large cutting mat, 24" ruler and I use a rotary cutter, it;'s easy then to line up the fabric to the grid on the mat to make accurate squares...
