Hi iam wanting to make the pjs with the lovely jersey sewing machine fabric. How do i make the top longer and how much longer do you think? im 5ft 3". I have just got an overlocker Juki MO 114 never used one before. What size Ball point needles do i use? also i have bought Maraflexi thread do i need 4 spools or just 2 for the needles or will normal thread be ok? and use the flexi for just hemming with twin needle? also could I add pockets to the trousers like on the linen trouser pattern?

Thank you so much for your reply Laura. You have been super helpful. What size universal needle should I use though? as I have used 80/12 to make some trousers but they are not cotton-jersey.

I’m making a pillow and I want to put the zipper in the middle so I’m not sewing over it. I think I’ve seen Debbie do this but can’t find it. Could someone help? Thanks

Does anyone know somewhere that takes off cuts/ scraps of fabric for recycling? I take larger, useable pieces to a local charity shop. But I have saved all those tiny pieces to use as filing for draught excluders. However I have more than I’ll ever use and don’t want to put them into landfill. I asked the charity shop what they do with their surplus fabric/ clothes and the company they used to send theirs to no longer wants them. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

In the welcome to the block of the month 2026 instructions, I am following the before you start 'cutting instructions'. The line that says 2 x 9" squares in B/G and 2 x strips in Fab C.... it doesn't say what block they are being cut for. Please can someone let me know what block they are to be used with. Thanks 😊

I used some of the white packing tape that comes around parcels I ha delivered, I save everything! You could use boning instead...

As a relative newbie to the club I would like to be involved in the live sew-a-longs but don't know how to find them. I asked a few weeks ago before the last one but got no replies. The next club live is this sat, 31st January, so can anyone help me please. No doubt it is one of those things that is easy - once you know how- I just need pointing in the right direction for my first time

I’m in the process of making the owl pillow. I’m wondering if all the instructions are here. ? After it tells you about putting the beak on, there nothing.Also it large eye piece seems to be missing. Could some e tell me where to find the rest. I have looked on the magazine and didn’t see it. A little girl is waiting patiently for this. Thank you

Hello, thank you for getting in touch. Please see full instructions below: 1. Cut out the templates and transfer to the felt. You will need two bodies in the turquoise, two wings, two ears and two pupils in brown, one eye piece in white, two yellow eyes, one orange beak and two pupil circles each in white, orange and yellow. 2. Split your thread to use only two or three strands. Start by placing the large white eye piece onto the front body and secure with regular straight stitches or blanket stitch. Please note that in this project the stitches need to be quite big and bold as they become part of the design. 3. Now place the yellow eyes on top and centre them. Hold in place with very large straight stitches ⅝in (1.5cm). Place the brown pupils on top, centre them and hold with overhand or blanket stitch. 4. Place the beak between the eyes and sew with overhand stitches or blanket stitch. Do the same thing with the ears. 5. Pin the wings on the sides and sew only along the inner edge with overhand stitches, leaving the outer edge unstitched. Place your six circles in two rows of three at the bottom and pin. Use a large star stitch to keep in place. 6. You can now place the front onto the back and sew together with blanket stitch. When you get to the wings, make sure you are sewing though all three layers. Fill the owl before closing completely.

Hi everyone. I am in the process of making wonky street cushion. When I use freezer paper to cut small shapes to add to my design I'm finding the material is not sticky and doesn't hold in place before sewing. Has anyone got any idea what I am doing wrong please. I've tried sewing straight away but still no success. Thank you

Hi, has anyone made Kim’s new Luna bag. The instructions don’t say to use piping round the flap of the bag but the picture shows it with piping. Just curious what others have done. I have done piping @nd I think it finishes off the look of the bag nicely.
