I want to make the pattern in...Sewing Room Accessories.. Published 2017…pin and Pattern Pouch… I wanted to know what is the packing tape and where it is used an if there is a tutorial for this project..please reply ASAP as I wanted to start it soon

I used some of the white packing tape that comes around parcels I ha delivered, I save everything! You could use boning instead...

As a relative newbie to the club I would like to be involved in the live sew-a-longs but don't know how to find them. I asked a few weeks ago before the last one but got no replies. The next club live is this sat, 31st January, so can anyone help me please. No doubt it is one of those things that is easy - once you know how- I just need pointing in the right direction for my first time

I’m in the process of making the owl pillow. I’m wondering if all the instructions are here. ? After it tells you about putting the beak on, there nothing.Also it large eye piece seems to be missing. Could some e tell me where to find the rest. I have looked on the magazine and didn’t see it. A little girl is waiting patiently for this. Thank you

Hello, thank you for getting in touch. Please see full instructions below: 1. Cut out the templates and transfer to the felt. You will need two bodies in the turquoise, two wings, two ears and two pupils in brown, one eye piece in white, two yellow eyes, one orange beak and two pupil circles each in white, orange and yellow. 2. Split your thread to use only two or three strands. Start by placing the large white eye piece onto the front body and secure with regular straight stitches or blanket stitch. Please note that in this project the stitches need to be quite big and bold as they become part of the design. 3. Now place the yellow eyes on top and centre them. Hold in place with very large straight stitches ⅝in (1.5cm). Place the brown pupils on top, centre them and hold with overhand or blanket stitch. 4. Place the beak between the eyes and sew with overhand stitches or blanket stitch. Do the same thing with the ears. 5. Pin the wings on the sides and sew only along the inner edge with overhand stitches, leaving the outer edge unstitched. Place your six circles in two rows of three at the bottom and pin. Use a large star stitch to keep in place. 6. You can now place the front onto the back and sew together with blanket stitch. When you get to the wings, make sure you are sewing though all three layers. Fill the owl before closing completely.

Hi everyone. I am in the process of making wonky street cushion. When I use freezer paper to cut small shapes to add to my design I'm finding the material is not sticky and doesn't hold in place before sewing. Has anyone got any idea what I am doing wrong please. I've tried sewing straight away but still no success. Thank you

Hi, has anyone made Kim’s new Luna bag. The instructions don’t say to use piping round the flap of the bag but the picture shows it with piping. Just curious what others have done. I have done piping @nd I think it finishes off the look of the bag nicely.

Huge apologies- I have reread the instructions and it does say to sew piping around the bag flap. In my rush to get it done I missed it! Sorry! Thanks Laura for your reply.

I have these 5"/12,5 cm squares that I sewed from scraps. I meant to make them into a baby quilt but that never happened. Now, I want to instead make something fun out of each individual blocks but what? I'm thinking maybe coasters but I need more ideas. Any tips would be helpful! 🙏

Hi, Anyone any idea why the automatic thread cutter on my Elna 580+ only cuts the bobbin thread and not the top thread. Both have the same thread, Aurofil Cotton 50wt. I've checked my instruction manual but this error isn't listed. Also is it possible for a sewing machine to dislike a particular thread. It doesn't seem to like Gutterman polyester 50wt, certainly not in the bobbin anyway. It doesn't wind tightly enough no matter what speed the machine goes at. Thanks. Jennifer

Yes, I'm using the Janome bobbins that came with the machine and I've followed the instructions in the manual and watched a YouTube demo for winding the bobbin and threading the machine. Re the cutter. I'll give Janome a call on Monday to see why it pulls the top thread to the left but doesn't cut it. I've removed the plate to check just in case there is some lint, etc but all clear. Thanks Laura for your help.

Does anyone know when Debbie did a demonstration for the Perfect Points Half Square Triangles fusible non woven interfacing? I am not sure how to cut the strips into triangles🤦♀️ having a senior moment I fear

I can’t remember exactly when it was but if you search under Debbie’s previous live streams on YouTube you will find it as that is what I did. The only problem is whilst you’re trawling through you may well get sidetracked with some of Debbie’s other lovely demos.

I've looked around but all i found was simple projects that if the stitch is a bit wonky it doesn't matter. Maybe kids projects would work well. Just an idea.
