I’m thinking I would like to make the wonky circular cover into a foot stool. How do I measure for the side piece. Will it need to be cut in the bias. Thanks in advance
Laura replied: 9 Jul 25 at 20:50
The Garden Pouffe would be a good project to use as a basis for your project. The instructions describe how to adapt the size to make your own stool in the size you require. You will find it here https://www.halfyardsewingclub.com/projects/garden-pouffe I hope this helps 😊

Hi can anyone advise how best to put an invisible zip in the left side of a skirt with a waistband please. I get as far as sewing the zip as far as the zip pull but not sure how to get around the zip pull and am left with a small hole. I’ve tried sewing as far as I can and stop before the zip pull and have then taken it out, pinned the seam flat and sewn down but it still either puckers or I’m left with a bit unsewn. Any help gratefully received. Thank you.

This video from Debbie might help as she shows the invisible zip technique 😊 https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=GyXb6Dbqzl0

Morning. Can anyone tell me which scissors Debbie uses that she call ‘the best scissors’ please.
Laura replied: 5 Jul 25 at 13:21
https://www.debbieshoresewing.com/shop/books-haberdashery/cutting-tools/sewline-snippet-scissors-5-5-inches/ There are small, large and a set of two on the website but the large and the set are out of stock at the moment so put your name on the waiting list to be notified when they come back in stock if you want them 😊

Hey there, I got a newsletter telling me there’s a 15% discount for Sewing Street. Has anyone managed to find it? I don’t know how to find it
Laura replied: 5 Jul 25 at 15:39
Yes a great offer if you were buying any furniture or storage from today’s show as they were discounted anyway ..well done you. The offer on SS is on for most of July so am guessing we can use it again ..might have to test that 🤣🤣
