I'm working on a tumbling blocks quilt and need to insert some setting triangles at the top and bottom of the quilt. I have searched the internet and can't find a YouTube video that explains how I sew a setting triangle in a similar situation. See my image below. I would really be grateful of some help. Thanks in advance.

That's good news! Look forward to seeing it completed.

Hi all, could someone please advise how I iron fusible fleece onto fabric.Do I use steam or not? Also can the fleece be included in the seam allowance? Thanks x
Bronzedragonfly replied: 9 Aug 26 at 11:25
As said, do follow the instructions on the fleece itself. Personally, I don't use steam and cut away the seam allowances to avoid bulk when sewing through layers, although as Laura suggests, it's not necessary just a personal preference. I usually press from the right side of the fabric if it can take the heat, as it's closer to the glue on the fleece. Don't move your iron about too quickly as you need to give the glue time to melt. Lay flat afterwards to allow glue to set. Have fun! Helen

Regarding the issue I had with the new storage pods, now happily resolved, I increased the seam allowance on the lining to adjust the fit, increased it a couple of times & checked the fit, but didn’t increase at the top where it has to fit the outer pod as Bronzedragonfly had suggested I think our thought processes must have been working in tandem as I’d done exactly as suggested before I’d read the suggestion. Still think it’s weird this happens but put it down to the sewing gods just having a bit of fun 😂 Anyway all good now, they are a lovely make….

Hi all, sorry about that - I can confirm that the pattern has been updated now. Best wishes, Claire, HYSC

Is any one else having issues with the lining in the new storage pods as mine is coming up large despite being the same size at cutting stage, and with the same size seam allowance when sewn up, resulting in it being baggy inside, I’ve made 2 now with the same result using cotton fabric for the lining, ohelp 🤔
Bronzedragonfly replied: 4 Aug 26 at 18:02
I've not made this yet, but have had similar problems with bag linings in the past. Try taking a bigger seam allowance on the lining around the bottom section (not near the top as it needs to match the outer pod) and see if that helps. Sometimes, it only takes a few mm's to sit comfortably. Maybe trying tacking it first and trying the fit before machining.

Hi, from the calendar of events it shows that Debbie is going to do her first one on a Thursday - can you confirm that's correct?

Hi, i cant print out the instructions for the latest pods pattern. I have templates but not what to do with them xx
Bronzedragonfly replied: 4 Aug 26 at 18:05
I just hit the 'print' button and it took me to the instructions so I could print them. I found the 'template' and 'instructions' buttons both went to templates only.

I thought that all the patterns over the years would not come off.!! I wanted to print the bum bag at a larger setting. I'm glad I printed all previous patterns. I am now going to print the one's I haven't done yet, just in case they get taken off.
Laura replied: 2 Aug 26 at 20:49
The bum bag hasn’t come back yet since the decision to keep all projects on here rather than removing them after 2 years. I am sure it will be brought back soon.

Hi, please can anyone tell me how to enlarge the E Zine magazines on my laptop so I can read the words?
barb replied: 2 Aug 26 at 09:41
What browser are you using? You need to change the settings. Taking Chrome as an example. Go to the top right alongside the address bar where you will see 3 horizontal dots. Click on these and look down the list where you will see something called ' zoom' Alongside that there is a number and %. Increase the number to zoom in on the screen Other browsers have similar settings Hope this helps

Has anyone made the storage pods yet and if so with the pattern I am not sure where the pattern pieces say join whether I overlap one join line onto the other or whether you are supposed to match the arrows to make a rectangle box. Can anyone help before I start cutting and end up wasting fabric? Thank you
Laura replied: 1 Aug 26 at 19:05
Hi Ali…you join the outer line marked by the arrows when it says join here. Debbie talks you through template preparation on a video in the Tips section. I have pasted it here for you https://halfyardsewingclub.com/tips/using-printed-patterns

Hi, when clicking on instructions for the storage pods it only shows the templates?
Bronzedragonfly replied: 4 Aug 26 at 18:06
I had the same problem, just hit the 'print' button alongside and it will take you to the instructions which you can then print.

Anyone made the fluted hem skirt? I’m looking for the finished garment size before I cut into my fabric. Thanks
Laura replied: 1 Aug 26 at 19:23
There is a size chart on the pattern on the instruction tab here https://halfyardsewingclub.com/uploads/ds_dressmaking_studio/dressmaking_size_guide.pdf and as it is a close fitting garment that probably provides the finished sizes as well.
