I received several Ada and Pearl at Christmas panels today. I’m confused by one of the instructions half way down. It says I need “sixteen 2.5” x 55” x 27.5” fabric strips each cut at 2 different lengths “ the Three measurements at the start don’t make sense, can you explain please. Presumably it’s one or the other. Do I cut the 55” in half first to get twice as many at 27.5”?

As these weren’t an HYSC project you may be best to contact Debbie at enquiries@debbieshoresewing.com for a prompt answer.

What is best for markings on fabric? A heat erasable pen or an air one. Thanks
Laura replied: 28 Jul 26 at 14:17
I think they both have pros and cons …if you are quilting etc then air erasable disappears very quickly and your lines can be gone before you have finished and if you iron over air erasable that can make it permanent. If you need to iron your project as you go along then you will lose any lines you have made in heat erasable which can be frustrating and heat erasable lines can bleach your fabric and leave marks once ironed off so be sure to test before use. Having said that they are both great tools and most of us would be lost without them but if I am not sure particularly on dressmaking I will revert back to tailors tacks and tailors chalk 😊

Is there any tips for making a small dementia fidget quilt / blanket. It has to be no larger than 18 " square?
Laura replied: 26 Jul 26 at 09:18
There is one on the site here https://halfyardsewingclub.com/projects/fidget-blanket which could be made to the size you require. Use elements that you find in your habadashery or button box to make interesting and calming features. I have seen some people add laminated photos, pictures and elements that might bring back memories so worth thinking about that too.

Watched the live this afternoon and didn’t write the measurements down because I knew they were available here. However, I’m sure that Debbie said this afternoon that the foam was 5” square and the outer fabric 6” square which is different to here so I’m now wondering what size were the pockets. Can anyone help? If not, I’ll wait to Monday when the video will go live. Thanks
Debbie replied: 26 Jul 26 at 09:00
The measurements are all in the blog, the foam is 6" square and the fabric 7" square, hope that helps!

Just watched Saturday's live, on the back shelf there were two storage pods with red strip rims. Debbie it was over your left shoulder behind you on the shelf. Is there a pattern available for this please?
Debbie replied: 26 Jul 26 at 09:00
