I have made the bucket hat in the smallest size for my 18 month old grandaughter and it seems too deep , if I reduce the size will the depth be the same ?
barb replied: 10 Jul 26 at 14:53
If you change the printer settings to say 80% then all dimensions will reduce in line. If it’s just the height you want to reduce you could add one or two small horzontal folds across the height pattern piece, if you reduce this piece from the top or bottom then the size won’t be right for the brim or the circular top. But by folding within the piece it will still fit. Good luck.

Hi i sent an email ref the sewing machine pin cushion with a pic as for some reason i couldnt send the pic but i have not heard from anyone ?
Laura replied: 10 Jul 26 at 09:09
The Sewing Machine pin cushion was removed after its two year period and although it returned in 2022 for a short period it has not been returned again as yet. Projects don’t get taken down after two years anymore and old removed projects are returning slowly but not the sewing machine pin cushion so far.

I definitely need to lengthen the summer blouse, how far up from the bottom of the pattern pieces would you suggest I cut it to add length.
Laura replied: 10 Jul 26 at 09:13
If the pattern hasn’t got lengthening lines marked on it I would just add to the required length of the pattern using a ruler and following the shape of the sides.

Hi my daughter has asked me to fix her dress. It is made of cheesecloth and the material has come away from the seam, almost torn and frayed. The other side of the seam looks quite weak too. What is the best way of fixing this? It’s a long summer dress and the seam goes down the back. Many thanks in advance!
barb replied: 30 Jun 26 at 21:45
The coordinating strip idea is the one for me, or even some wide binding or ribbon type strip. You could add a decorative stitch on the fabric before sewing it on. This will stabilise and cover the fraying seam. Good luck.

The seam allowance is included in the pattern.
