Which parts of the backpack are challenging please? ?I'd love to make it but really don't want to start yet another project that i can't finish :) Is there a way to make it easier by leaving out some parts ?? (the question submission form won't allow me to send it direct to Debbie )

I think if you're ok with zips you should be able to complete the project, follow the video and you'll be fine, but come back if you get into difficulties!

The pattern is to use with the foam interfacing, so you cut the fabric larger. Does that help?

Hi Sorry this is probably a stupid a question but realised this is the first time i am actually making something from the half yard club. I need to ask about?the template for the baby bag.? I print this out and then join the papers together as show in the diagram on the top of the page and then cut out my material according to what it says on the pattern. For example it says part 1,2,3,4 that would be the whole size of one piece of cut material for the front or back? Many thanks to all for helping Harbant ?

Hi Harbant, Yes, joining the pattern pieces together will give you the full size of the bag, no need to place on fold, the pattern says how many pieces to cut and of which fabric. Hope you enjoy making it, please ask if you have any more questions!

Sorry another question about the Baby bag I need to put a shoulder strap on it instead of it being a backpack. Would i just decide on the length and add sliders like you you have shown for the backpack? Also assume would add the straps to the sides of the bag Thank you Harbant
Debbie replied: 24 Nov 20 at 08:19
You'll need to add the strap into the side seams, there is a small pleat on the pattern in the side panels so I'd leave this out. I think a wide strap would work well, maybe 1.5", you should be able to buy 1.5" sliders and rectangle rings... [I'm afraid I don't have any at the moment...] The length of the strap is up to you but around 30" works well for me...

I am making one of Debbies bags that I saw on Pinterest with faux leather and canvas, and it says to fuse wadding to some of the faux leather parts and this does not seem to be working ,would l be better to fuse the lining parts instead

I am making the PATCHWORK COSMETIC BAG on YouTube (August 29,2020) My question is can I use fusible foam stabilier and iron it on the grid side of the front and back partchwork, instead of interfacing? Want to make bag a little more firm. Or do you have another option for me to try. Thank You for your time. Dinah Caberto ?

Foam stabiliser would work well, still use the gridded interfacing to create the patchwork then iron the foam over the back of the fabric panels.

Is it on today please been trying since 2pm without any luck? ?
Debbie replied: 19 Nov 20 at 12:59
I didn't do this one I'm afraid, Bobbin [my dog] has had an op on her leg and can't be left alone, so I had a puppy day!
