Hi .. I have had great difficulty in making this months block .. I just couldn?t understand how to cut the smaller sail down to 5.5 ? .. so had to do my own thing .. the block has finished at the exact measurements said.. so alls good on that respect .. not an easy make .. has anyone else struggled .. xx

Why did the sail boat as for 3 x 2.5 inch squares cut into 6 triangles (Fab6) when we only use 3 of the triangles? Two squares would have been enough.

I have just watched Debbie make the circular top (June 24) and it?s a bit shorter in length than I would wear but I have no idea how to alter the shape from the original semi circle. Would love some help please!!

On the Saturday morning live on You Tube where Debbie introduced the top (she is wearing it) she said that you would need to cut an oval rather than semi circle to make a longer top. I assume this means you keeping Debbies measurement calculations for the arm length (bust) and then measuring the length you require and make this mark at the base of the fold at Step 1and then drawing an oval shaped curve to join these two measurements so that length is added to the vertical fold line. Perhaps make up a toile in a cheaper fabric eg sheeting or calico first before you cut your chosen fabric. Hope this helps.

Hi Everyone. My son has split the backside seam on his sport trousers and shorts. They are black with no stretch. I thought I would try and strengthen the seam before sewing but not sure what to use. He likes the label that says medium but he may have to rethink that. He?s 34 and a PE teacher ????????.

Perhaps some bias binding applied to each side of the seam before you sew might help or I have seen trousers with a bias binding applied across the finished inside seam but not sure how comfortable that would be in PE clothing. Perhaps a Medium with a discreet bit of stretch is his next move (smiley face)

Any A4 printer and no it doesn?t need to be A3 Most home/desktop printers don?t do A3 anyway Any large pattern pieces you join together

Am I missing something? I have done my sand dunes, they measure 18 1/2 inches, but I can't see how it will fit on the waves. The photo of the finished quilt appears to show the sand dune going across the whole quilt. Do I need to do another set of 18 class? I have still not been brave enough to cut the seminole waves yet!!

Hi Jayne. I’ve just posted the same question as you and now seen the replies to your query. Like you I thought the beach huts would be appliquéd on after the row finished and one above. I’ll get prepared for more clamshells then when the beach hut square is reached!!
