Where can I find the Blog please?
Heather replied: 26 May 24 at 20:50
Thank's Barb. I think I got confused and was looking under Debbie's shop page instead of the Halfyardclub page. I'll look out for the new sew-along for members when it gets loaded this week. Thanks again. Heather

Hello fellow members I?d like to ask how you store your ribbon. At present I store mine in a shoe box but they get messy and you need to open the box to see what you have. Does anyone have a good solution?
Susan replied: 25 May 24 at 22:02
I have a rack on the wall which only holds a fraction of the ribbon I have (!!) so the rest are stored in a collapsible crate.

I made this bag in vinyl, one of Debbie?s, and I have never used vinyl before but it came out ok.

I have just used Cork for the first time on a bag. If you have any worries about using it, don?t worry, it?s so easy to sew with. I have loved using it and will do it again.
Mel replied: 23 May 24 at 14:14
That?s fabulous! I love sewing with cork, it?s so nice to work with and looks great for the base of bags. Love yours Blodwen.

Can anyone suggest an easy beginners sewing project to try first
Julia replied: 21 May 24 at 14:10
Hi Tracey, I am a beginner too. I have enjoyed making the mats - to stand sewing machine, food mixers on etc. Makes the machimes easier to move about and are quick to see a finished result - plus they are great for practising to sew in a straight line which I struggle with no end. Good luck and happy sewing. Xxxx

Hi all We had a typo in Carole's name on the newsletter - so the link may not work directly from there now - to learn more about Carole please see this post! https://www.halfyardsewingclub.com/blog/meet-the-member-carole
CaroleQ replied: 25 May 24 at 03:21
Thank you for correcting the typo. I hope you all enjoy hearing my sewing story. It?s been so important to me over the years for my physical and mental health. I love it so thank you again for indulging me. Cx

Oh no just realised I ve sewn my clams together the wrong way round my straight edge will be on the right not left. Will it matter? Making two quilts and done it wrong on both sets of clams.
Laura replied: 15 May 24 at 09:34
The rounded edge of the finished strip (the sand dunes) will go along the top of your strip and be placed from one side of your quilt to the other so I think you will be fine. As long as you have a straight edge to sew to the waves strip that we completed earlier. The quilts don?t all have to look identical and nobody else will notice the little errors we are all bound to make in the learning process.
